The End of the Page

Now you know and knowing is just a touch over half the battle.

Legos to Lolcats: A Day in the life of…(3/26)

Posted by goldwriting on March 26, 2008

1 – Upon discovering the site, where I found the last glorious Mario rampage video, I also stumbled upon this amazing lego animation of a classic comedy bit from Eddie Izzard detailing what it could possibly be like for Darth Vader to get some lunch in the Death Star canteen. I dare you to not chuckle throughout this video. If you win the dare, you still lose since you have no sense of humor. [via, well, you damn well where this came from, just read the post]

2 – In a move that surprises no one, Heather Mills, the newly queened ex-ex-Beatle, is starting her deep and probing search into Paul McCartney’s finances to prove that he is worth more than he claims, meaning she should get more from her divorce settlement of $50 million dollars. I’m pretty sure if you stare at her long enough, you can see her true color, which is green, and if you keep quiet enough as not to scare her away you might even see her feed on small rodents and fowl. (In other words, she’s a monster.) [via WWTDD]

3 – Sally Kern is continuing to try and defend her stance on homosexuality being worse for this country than terrorism. Is it just me or does every word falling from her mouth weigh down the progress and hope we have for people in this country? Take this little tidbit for example:

“Mine is not an extreme view,” counters Kern. “Mine is the view of the average American citizen, and I disagree with you.”

This ‘view’ she speaks of is the one where if we don’t eradicate the ‘gay agenda’ our society will be completely destroyed in a matter of decades. Sure, yep, totally not an extreme point of view. Not at all. I consider myself an average citizen in many ways and I cannot express in words how her view is the polar opposite of my own. I must choose to express my disgust through modern dance, but I have absolutely no skill in that so who knows what I would end up saying. You can watch the whole debate here. 4 – A little glimmer of hope in the ongoing Hobbit fiasco, Ian McKellen said in an interview that he is in good shape to reprise his role as the wise old sage Gandalf. One piece is in place then, let’s hope they keep coming or I’m getting a forklift and tossing the WB offices into a volcano. [via FilmDrunk]

5 – So, um, I know this is our first date and all, but, um, you wanna go to space? (loose translation: If I get you into space, I am so getting laid.) [via CNN]

6 – Ziggy Stardust rides again: [via FunkyDuds]

7 – I learned all my morals and ethics from 80’s cartoons, so I have no idea why this list would claim they were filled with child warping imagery. It’s just not so, I tell ya! [via Gorilla Mask]

8 – Class and delusions go so well together. [via Garfield Minus Garfield]

9 – For those who didn’t get to see the brilliance of Firefly when the FOX network was playing TV schedule Boggle with it, do yourselves a favor and view the entire series on Hulu. You won’t be sorry.

10 – This blog alone can keep you amused for days, if not lifetimes. Lolcats will control our world in the near future. Be prepared with kitty snacks for them.
